The call of Jesus is a call to overcome. To overcome all of the powers that stand in opposition to God’s reign, God’s kingdom. Responding to this call is not always easy. It can lead to being maligned and mistreated. It can even lead to death. But Revelation is the reminder that death is not the same as defeat. Revelation challenges our imagination and helps us see our situation (and all of history) from God’s perspective.
