Anything of significance that we pursue comes with challenges. The initial burst of passion that motivated us to take action doesn’t last forever. It’s when the passion has waned and the challenges come that most projects fail. History is strewn with discarded initiatives and abandoned projects. The rebuilding of the wall under the leadership of Nehemiah is not one of them. Nehemiah models what it means to overcome obstacles rather than allowing them to bury us. His creativity, positive spirit, and continued dependence on God enabled him to complete the project in record time.
